I got a phone call that my fiance, currently deployed in the military had missed his flight and would be spending the night in the airport. And that he would, in fact, miss our small chapel wedding the next day because there were no available flights out in time. Well you certainly can't have a wedding without a groom and we were leaving on our honeymoon right after the wedding. Our time together was limited, we had exactly two weeks to get married, go on a honeymoon and get settled into our new apartment. My small chapel wedding beautifully yet quaintly decorated; my long empire waisted wedding dress and my husbands dress blues would never be worn. Yet when we got married in the airport, wearing jeans and a veil with my husband in day old clothes and morning breath none of that mattered. I was finally getting married to the love of my life and everything else faded away. So even with the people standing outside the airport restaurant and all the travelers stopping to peek, I didn't care. I was the happiest bride because I was getting to marry the man I love. Because really a wedding is a moment that lasts for only a short time and yet we long to remember it exactly as it was, for generations to come.
