New Studio
Two years ago we had just finished building a brand new studio in my backyard. It was small, only 200 sqare feet but it was mine. It had 9 foot walls and huge windows for natural light. A good friend had done the framing for us and Jason and I had worked out tails off finishing the rest. Together we did the shingles on the roof, put the siding on, caulking, painting, sheetrock on the inside and finally a majority of the mudding. I framed out the windows, we installed the a/c… well you get the picture. We worked hard. I decorated the walls, furnished it just the way I wanted it and even put beautiful built ins on the back wall. Here it is:
Isn’t it the cutest??? At the time had no idea how much things would change in the next couple months! Right about the time we finished the studio, the Lord called us to do foster care. We started fostering one little girl and were placed with a little boy soon after. Our 1,200 square foot home that we thought we were going to live in forever was bursting at the seams. In July of that year my parents informed us that it was time to let go and find a bigger house. I was fine moving out of the house, but the thought of leaving the studio I had worked on was hard. I obeyed and trusted that God would have something better. He did. So… fast forward to today. I live in my dream home (basically a miracle), have an even better backyard that I had at my last house, and right now the same man that built my last studio is building me an even bigger studio in my current backyard. It is a gift. And I am so thankful to begin starting this next phase in my business. Sometimes we don’t know what the future holds and its never easy but God’s faithfulness is always incredible.
Here’s a preview of what its going to look like!
The plans have been changed and tweaked a bit but you get the idea! A massive closet to store my stuff, four large windows on the side, an area for hair and makeup plus a small kitchenette. I will have a space to meet with clients, show people their finished images and do headshots!
I’ve already found some chandeliers that I love for the two sitting areas. I can’t wait to keep you guys updated on my progress. And thank you to Fred from Triumphant Construction for his incredible work! The guy is amazing!
